rainy evening

I saw a post talking about how people are trying to find out why terrorist do their terrible things from the Koran - yet they will find something else. it reminded me of something.
in a cold and rainy october evening two young sisters entered the bookshop of a small eastern european town and asked for a book. a specific book they believed will finally give them some guidance to their troubled lives - which was no worse than that of any other young people in 2001. but the girls felt something was missing. they knew some foreign students who were just as crazy as everyone else - yet, it seemed like they knew something. something they dont want to talk abt, something so strong they could never forget abt no matter how hard they tried... the younger and braver sister realized it first: we must read what the Koran says. there they were in the bookshop, but the shopkeeper told them: now its impossible. now? why? the sisters wondered what was so special about the october of 2001 that its impossible to get a Koran when that was something the felt would finally give some meaning to their life. "because of 9/11." came the shopkeepers voice from a different galaxy - "ppl wanna know why they did it." from the Koran? - the sisters asked each other - they will never know it from the Koran. islam has nothing to do with terrorism - said the girls. eventually they did find a Koran, they did find practicing muslims who would teach them, and with their third friend - now sister - they pronounced their shahada in june 2002. alhamduliLlah
